Hetalia

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 13, 2009, 2:36 PM

I used to watch a few episodes here and there . . . you know, I appreciated the show, but I didn't obsess. No siree.

That changed a couple days ago.

I realized that I could reward myself for doing homework by letting myself watch a short, 5-minute episode each time I finished a subject. It would keep me more focused (it actually works like that for me) . . . but I hadn't counted on getting hooked! Now I'm totally obsessed. I even changed my DA icon, which I haven't done since I joined. >.< Dude, that's big.

But honestly, I don't know why I wasn't such a big fan beforehand. I mean, I'm a big world history-buff; last year, I think I scared my World History II teacher by being a little too enthusiastic about the Christmas Truce and all . . . :XD: Don't get me wrong, I hate American history, but there's just something about world history that really holds my attention. I'm doing my SAT subject tests on world history, actually, because I find it fun to study. Now, that's nerdom.

Anyways, my favorite characters are Japan, Switzerland, and China. I actually mentioned Hetalia's portrayal of America in my civics paper, too. I was writing about narcissism, so I thought that the "I, the hero" catchphrase might help prove my point about the rest of the world's view of the States.

P.S. Has episode 43 even come out yet? I can't find it anywhere.
